Adverse Credit Bank Accounts
Having an adverse credit rating can affect many areas of you life,
not only your finances. But it will have a big impact on financial
matters such as securing credit or being accepted for a bank account.
If you have a poor credit rating then you may find that setting
up a bank account is difficult, and that you are refused by a number
of the high street banks, but this doesn’t mean that you cannot
find a bank willing to offer you a bank account.
An adverse credit bank account will differ from a regular account
in a number of ways, firstly they will often require that you
put in a higher than normal minimum amount when opening the account
(although usually you can withdraw this money straight away if
you wish), they will generally not allow you to go overdrawn or
will have a low overdraft limit..
As well as these benefits of an adverse credit bank account,
if you keep your account in the black for a period of time, often
as short as six months, then you may find that you will be able
to move to the bank’s standard bank account and enjoy the
full benefits of such an account, including a higher overdraft
limit and the possible inclusion of a credit card.
